Self-Borrowing and Returning
The library provides one 24-hour self-service return machine and four self-service borrowing/returning machines, located outside the main entrance of the Main Campus Library (south side) and at the northeast corner of the first-floor lobby near the gate. Readers can borrow and return books independently using the self-service machines.
Self-Service Book Return System Guide
1. Tap the "Return" option on the touchscreen (only one book can be returned at a time).
2. Follow the animation instructions on the screen to turn the book to the page with the barcode. The page with the "book barcode" should face up, and the book should be placed vertically with the spine facing the input slot. Then, place the book on the conveyor belt.
3. Watch the touchscreen to await the result:
(1) If you hear "Return Failed," please carefully read the prompt. The returned book may be overdue or reserved. For overdue or reserved books, please return them to the circulation desk.
(2) If you hear "Unable to Read Barcode," check if the "book barcode" is facing up. If the operation is correct but the barcode still cannot be read, please take the book to the circulation desk.
4. If you have any questions, please watch the video tutorial on the touchscreen for guidance. If further assistance is needed, please contact the circulation desk.
