The individual study pod area is a designated personal study zone located at the east end of the first floor of the Main Campus Library (north and south sides), comprising 18 pods. Use is free of charge for faculty and students of the university by reservation.

1. Online reservation. Each reservation may last up to 4 hours. Only one pod may be reserved per applicant per time slot. Reserve via the website (http://infospace.smu.edu.cn:8082/#/ic/home).

2. No-show policy. If a reservation is neither used nor canceled within 30 minutes of the start time, it is deemed invalid and one violation is recorded. Accumulating three violations results in a 10-day suspension.

3. Care of facilities. Handle fixtures and equipment with care. If any irregularity is observed, discontinue use and notify staff immediately.

4. Study use only. Pods are for study-related activities only.

5. Cleanliness and conduct. Maintain cleanliness. Items with strong odors and all solid foods are strictly prohibited. Spitting, littering, and similar misconduct are forbidden.

6. Before leaving. Return all shared items to their original positions and remove all personal belongings.

7. Enforcement. The Library reserves the right to terminate use and take appropriate action for any breach of these rules.
