The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), founded in 1841, is Europe's largest global professional body dedicated to advancing excellence in the chemical sciences. With over 56,000 members from 114 countries and regions spanning science, academia, knowledge services, and industry, the RSC is a cornerstone of the global chemistry community. As a leading publisher of chemical information, its publications and resources have become indispensable tools and key metrics in both academic and industrial settings. The Society is headquartered in Cambridge, UK, with offices in London, Washington D.C., Berlin, Tokyo, Philadelphia, Beijing, Shanghai, Bangalore, and São Paulo. Currently, the RSC engages in publishing, organizing professional conferences, providing member services and accreditation, and other promotional activities in China.

The database includes journals, magazines, annual reports, databases, and e-books. Some of its journals contain Open Access articles.

The database covers fields including chemistry and chemical engineering, energy and environment, materials, food science, physics, and life sciences. According to the latest 2017 Journal Citation Reports (JCR), the average Impact Factor of RSC journals reached 6.31. Over one-third of its journals have an Impact Factor above 5.0, with nearly 70% showing growth. In 2016, the RSC published 43 journals, 6 databases, and nearly 100 e-books.

Our university officially subscribed to the RSC Journals Full-Text Database starting in 2018. From that date, our patrons have been able to access and download full-text articles from RSC journals within the campus network.
