It indexes over 26,000 journals published by more than 7,000 publishers since 1788, around 270,000 important academic books, over 14 million conference papers, and 48 million patents. Coverage spans the four broad subject areas of Natural Sciences, Medicine, Social Sciences, and Life Sciences, with 27 major disciplines and 334 sub-disciplines. As of March 2023, Scopus contained more than 90 million abstracts and citation records, with daily updates.

Scopus serves as a one-stop starting point for research discovery, providing multiple analytical tools to track and visualize research performance and trends.
