People's Medical Publishing House (PMPH) Clinical Knowledge Base

The PMPH Clinical Knowledge Base is a medical knowledge service platform primarily built upon reference books, monographs, textbooks, guidelines, operational standards, analytical works, and instructional videos published by the People's Medical Publishing House. It aims to provide medical professionals with authoritative, specialized, and high‑quality medical information services. Currently, the knowledge base consists of a Western Medicine Library and a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Library.

The Western Medicine Library includes sub‑databases such as Monographs, Cases, Drugs, Guidelines, Videos, Illustrations, and Lectures.

The TCM Library includes sub‑databases such as Books, Diseases, Symptoms, Acupuncture & Moxibustion, Formulas, Chinese Materia Medica, Medical Records, and Illustrations.

The entire knowledge base currently contains:

Nearly 8,000 books

Over 1.41 million illustrations and charts

More than 200,000 clinical drug entries

Over 60,000 clinical cases

More than 60,000 clinical practice guidelines

The database content is continuously updated, supports multiple search methods, facilitates easy citation, and is accessible on mobile devices.

Key Features:

1. Multiple Search Options

    • Simple one‑click search by book title, disease, symptom/sign, drug, etc.
    • Advanced search with multi‑field logical combinations, filters by discipline, disease category, and publication date.
    • Expansion search using synonyms/English terms for search keywords.

2. Multiple Navigation Paths

    • Top Navigation Bar: Switch freely between the Western Medicine and TCM Libraries.
    • Upper Navigation Bar (Western Medicine): Monographs, Cases, Drugs, Guidelines, Videos, Illustrations, Lectures.
    • Upper Navigation Bar (TCM): Books, Diseases, Symptoms, Acupuncture, Formulas, Chinese Materia Medica, Medical Records, Illustrations.
    • Left‑side Navigation Bar: Toggle between book classification and knowledge classification.
      • Western Medicine: Chinese Library Classification (CLC), Diseases, Symptoms & Signs, Laboratory Tests, Surgical Procedures.
      • TCM: Chinese Library Classification (CLC), Era, Diseases, Symptoms, Acupuncture, Formulas, Chinese Materia Medica, Medical Records.

3. One‑Click Reading & Content Enrichment

    • While reading, the system automatically recommends related knowledge content based on built‑in relationships between diseases, surgeries/operations, laboratory tests, symptoms/signs, and drugs.
    • Deep linking of knowledge points through structured information helps users better grasp the internal logic and connections within the content.

4. Browser Recommendations for Videos & Lectures

    • Internet Explorer is recommended. If using 360 Browser, please select "Compatibility Mode."

5. Trial Notes:

    • Users must comply with relevant laws and regulations as well as PMPH's trial requirements.
    • The database copyright must be respected, and use is limited to teaching and research purposes only, not for any commercial activities.
